This series of masterclasses is for pianists of Grade 8 standard and above, playing the major works of the piano four-hand repertoire. There are regular opportunities for public performance. Join in any term subject to audition.
You will perform works from the piano duo/duet repertoire. You will learn through tuition, listening and group discussion. You will learn as a member of a master class both as a player and listener. Each week 3 – 4 duos will play and their lessons will be discussed. Focus will be on the chosen project for the term. You will need to follow and contribute to discussions in English. Music Study can include the use of digital resources such as listening to recordings, watching videos online, using appropriate mobile applications and following Moodle -¿ì²¥³ÉÈËÍø's virtual learning environment- to enhance your learning inside and outside the classroom. Music study also offers a range of benefits including being an enjoyable way to enhance wellbeing. Music practice at ¿ì²¥³ÉÈËÍø can also serve to enhance skills relevant for employment including developing creativity, developing high-concentration levels, building self-confidence, working to deadlines, being able to control nerves and working as part of a team.
This course is for pianists of Grade 6 (ABRSM) standard and above.
You will need to practise on your own so that you know your part well before you rehearse with your partner. You will have access to a practice room one hour before the class starts to rehearse with your partner(s). Excellent attendance and punctuality is required from all students. This course requires study/completion of activities outside of class time.
You need to bring scores for each lesson (arranged weekly), a notebook and pencil.
